And cute snakes at the bottom of the envelope protesting "Genesis Unfair to Snakes", which indeed it is.Marybethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13278520565186414844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26130622.post-9355861587748683542010-03-18T11:34:38.309-07:002010-03-18T11:34:38.309-07:00Oh yes, the Ear Inn. I stuck my head into the Ear when I was in NYC in June and Michael Jackson's music was blasting through the air everywhere. That part of the world is almost unrecognizable. It exists only in my memory and yours, and the other people who knew it then. There's a big glass monstrosity slammed up against that little building now. It's horrible.

I avoided all the Irish pubs yesterday, too, and I'm a former competitive Irish step dancer and all that shit. My circle calls "depth charges" "Irish car bombs". I think they're the same drink. I could be wrong there. I think these boys here drop shots into pints of Guiness. Gets you similarly fucked.

Now as far as St. Pat ridding Ireland of snakes, I don't think there were any snakes in Ireland to begin with. Ahhh...

One of my Irish chums from NYC once sent me a letter with a hand decorated envelope showing snakes carrying picket signs declaring "Bible Unfair to Snakes". Lots of Irish don't think the coming of Catholicism to Ireland was such a good thing.Marybethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13278520565186414844noreply@blogger.com
